FAQ

Many researchers in Kazakhstan only speak Russian and/or Kazakh. Why do I need to speak English to participate in a Researcher Connect workshop?

–       Researcher Connect was developed to help researchers meet the demands of an increasingly competitive global market, where the ability to communicate research effectively is paramount to success. Given that one of the main aims of the training is to help researchers from Kazakhstan communicate and connect with researchers in the UK and elsewhere, Researcher Connect is only delivered in English.

How will you assess my level of English?

–       We will assess your English by looking at your application and CV.We do not require a qualification in English (for example, IELTS, TOEFL). However, if you have a qualification you should mention it in the ‘qualification’ section of the application form.
