Presentation of the bilingual Kazakh-Spanish edition of the poetry book “The circles of hell”, by the Spanish laureate poet Justo Jorge Padrón will take place on THURSDAY, 30TH OF APRIL 2015, at 09:30 in the Hall of the First President
Justo Jorge Padrón is considered to be the most relevant Spanish alive poet (as he also is the most awarded Spanish alive poet).
His book “The circles of hell” was considered the most important Spanish poetry book of the period 1973-1977, having received the Fastenrath award by the Spanish Royal Academy of Language, a distinction that was only previously awarded to Federico Garcia Lorca. It also
received the Biannual Award to the Best European Poetry Book by the Swedish Writers Association for the period 1975-1976.
Having already been translated into more than thirty languages, the Spanish-Kazakh bilingual edition of “The circles of hell” constitutes the first time a Spanish poetry book is translated into Kazakh language. It has been translated by the Kazakh poet Tanakoz Tolkynkyzy. The presentation and edition of the book has been made possible owing to the support of the Spanish Embassy in Kazakhstan.
In addition, Justo Jorge Padrón was appointed by the competent authorities of Kazakhstan to compile the Anthology of modern Kazakh poetry, which will be published in Spanish for 2016.
The presentation ceremony will be attended by the Mr Justo Jorge Padrón, Rector of ENU E.B. Sydykov, the translator Tanakoz Tolkynkyzy and the Spanish Embassy staff members.
