On April 2, 2015, Department of Teleradio and Public Relations organized a roundtable discussion on “Actual problems of studying contemporary media texts” in the framework of the Decade of Science in the walls of the Eurasian National University with the participation of professors, PhD students, Master and Bachelor students of “Journalism” specialty.
Moderator of the round table Ph.D., Professor S.S. Takhanov submitted to discussion such most problematic issues of modern scientific interpretation of “media text” phenomenon as the scope and limits of this concept, types of media texts, manifestations of intertextuality and poly-coding in the structure of media texts, syntactic features of a media text as a product of convergent journalism.
Moderator in his opening speech drew attention to the key problems of the origin and existence of the modern media texts in a single socio-cultural space. In the process of scientific discussion with the active participation of the 1st year PhD student M. Bulatova, master students A. Omarova, A. Kuzekbay, A. Bilyalova, N. Kamali was generated conceptually scientific consensus about the media text as a complex multi-level sign system that integrates semiotic codes into a single whole – verbal, nonverbal, media.
Roundtable participants unanimously agreed that such scientific discussions develop academic horizons. The results of the round table allow them to concentrate on finding new methodological approaches to combine into a single scientific discourse previously divorced lines of scientific investigations, opening the possibility of projection on the current events of a media research experience by different science schools.
