We are pleased to announce a research workshop “Educational research cooperation between Kazakhstan and the United Kingdom” within cooperative partner program “Newton – Al Farabi” funded by British Council focusing on developing early career researchers’ skills in using multiple research methods in social sciences including big data sets.
We have places for up to fifteen early career researchers (within ten years of completing their PhD or its equivalent and in exceptional cases PhD students in their third year of study) to attend a four day workshop in Astana, Kazakhstan, where they will work with a similar group of British researchers to develop their own expertise and to establish research networks and projects in using multiple research methods in social sciences. Successful applicants will be fully funded to attend the workshop including travel and subsistence costs for applications from within Kazakhstan.
The workshop will take place between 24-27th February 2015 at L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University in Astana and will be led by Dr. Elaine Wilson (The University of Cambridge) and Professor Aizhan Abibulayeva (L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University). In addition Prof. Gaini Dlimbetova (L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University) and Dr. PhD Zhazira Abdykhalykova (L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University) will provide inputs and act as mentors in supporting participants in the process of networking and establishing their own research projects.
