30 January The Institute of Physics and Advanced Technologies hosts the Second Seminar “What is Innovation and Why it cannot be put into production?”

Institute of Physics and High Technologies holds a cycle of seminars on science and innovation management, as well as the role of mentality and cultural characteristics of the population in scientific and technological development.

Theme of the second seminar – «Что такое инновация и почему ее нельзя внедрять в производство?» (“What is Innovation and Why it cannot be put into production?”).

Innovation is usually defined as embedded innovation. There are complains that due to misunderstanding and no improper schemes, new ideas, products, technology do not arouse interest and are excluded. Meanwhile, “embedded innovation” is nonsense, absurdity, like “hot ice”! The essence of the term is identified and strict wording of the concept of “innovation” is provided. Examples of personal practice show how to avoid the problem of introduction of innovations.

Lecturer is leading researcher in the Centre “Kazakhstan studies”, University “Turan-Astana” Kairbek S. Nagumanov (the lecturer’s articles can be found here, information on the first workshop)

Time and place: 30 January, 11.00 am; Engineering Building (TSISI), Room 316.

Tutors, staff, students and guests of the University, interested in the development of science and innovation in Kazakhstan and willing to listen and talk about it, are invited to the event.
